Why do drain pipes need to be cleaned?

Managing the water balance on land often gets attention again when the suffering has already been suffered, or in other words: during the dry periods everyone forgets that there will be a wet period again. This can cause major problems in the spring when the land has to be tilled or during the harvest in the autumn.

When you have experienced such a situation, you look for a solution. This is often the construction of a drainage system. It is often then forgotten that this system also requires periodic maintenance:

• are the outlets still free?
• have the drainage pipes silted up due to flushing?
• did root growth cause blockage?

It is therefore important to carry out periodic checks and maintenance so that the drainage system can continue to do its job optimally.
